Tyrese Maxey Saves Sixers Season with 46-Point Masterclass

Sixers Win 109-102 to Force Game 6 in Semifinals

Maxey Scores Clutch Points Down the Stretch

Madison Square Garden fell silent on Saturday night as Tyrese Maxey stunned the New York Knicks with a 46-point performance, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a crucial 109-102 victory in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The win, which was the Sixers' first in Madison Square Garden this season, sends the series back to Philadelphia for Game 6 on Monday night. The Knicks now need to win Game 6 and Game 7 in Philadelphia to advance to the Eastern Conference finals.

Maxey, who has been one of the Sixers' most consistent players this season, was unstoppable on Saturday night. He hit 17-of-28 from the field, including 6-of-12 from three-point range.

The Sixers led by just six points with less than two minutes remaining in the game, but Maxey hit a pair of free throws and then a clutch three-pointer to give the Sixers a nine-point lead. The Knicks never recovered, and the Sixers closed out the game with a 10-0 run.

"Tyrese was huge for us tonight," Sixers coach Doc Rivers said. "He made big shots when we needed them, and he played with a lot of heart and determination."

Joel Embiid added 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Sixers, while James Harden had 17 points and 10 assists.

The Knicks were led by RJ Barrett, who had 25 points. Julius Randle added 24 points, and Mitchell Robinson had 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Game 6 of the series is scheduled for Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
